TENS
15 years or so ago when we started our businessTeNS machines were almost unheard of. Now TeNS machines are used every day by millions of people as individuals, through hospitals and pain clinics. TeNS machines work by blocking the passage of pain signals as they travel along the nerve pathways. "No pain signals, no pain". As secondary help TeNS machines encourage the production of endorphins, the body's natural pain killer, close to the source of the pain.

TeNS machines are hugely successful against a very wide range of painful conditions. However they are limited by the strong sensation they produce. As you increase the output you soon get to a point when any further would become extremely uncomfortable.

INTERFERENTIAL
For ease of understanding you can consider Interferential as being a sophisticated form of TeNS machine.

Interferential works just like TeNS by blocking pain signals transmitted by your nerves. However by running at very high frequencies which pass through your skin almost unnoticed, Interferential produces an extremely low level of sensation. As a result you can run Interferential at significantly higher power levels whilst producing very low levels of sensation.

The electrical impulses of Interferential penetrate deep into your tissue where, at these high levels of energy, they are much more effective at blocking pain signals. In addition, unlike any standard TeNS machine, Interferential has a significant effect in reducing inflammation and swelling. This alone can result in a dramatic reduction in pain by actually removing its cause.

Interferential is regularly used by physiotherapists particularly where inflammation and swelling is present. Just as with TeNS, Interferential is completely free from side effects and so is perfectly safe to use.

MICROCURRENT
is possibly the most exciting and most underestimated of all forms of electrotherapy.

Microcurrent works by stimulating your body's natural healing mechanisms and can be used to treat a very wide range of conditions including arthritis, sports injuries, wounds, broken or fractured bones, ulsers - in fact any condition involving damaged tissue or bone.

Microcurrent does this by sending an extremely small and precise electrical current (measured in millionths of an amp (microamps)) into the cells of the body. This electrical impulse is designed to replicate (and boost) an impulse generated naturally within all human cells. It has an immediate effect of increasing the production of ATP (energy) within the cells. This in turn dramatically increases the tissues rate of healing.

Microcurrent therapy actually encourages your body to heal and at a much faster rate than otherwise would have happened.

The exact effects or changes in the tissue are unmistakable; scars will often suddenly soften; trigger points often become less painful within minutes when the "correct" frequency is applied. In many situations the changes are long lasting and in many cases permanent.

EMS successfully rebuilds and tones muscles. Different levels of muscle contraction are achieved by sending electrical impulses of various types, depending on the programme selected, into the body. This is beneficial where muscles - for whatever reason - have not been in regular use and have lost condition (muscle atrophy).
