Obi TeNS is a very neat digital Obstetric TeNS unit following the modern design trend which puts all of its controls onto the unit itself.

Specifically designed to minimise cost and to maximise simplicity of use the Obi has just two pre set programmes (Background and Boost) and is operated via just four control buttons. One control to turn it on and off, another to switch between Background and Boost modes and one button each to increase and decrease the intensity.

As with all Obstetric TeNS the Obi has four electrodes in two pairs. These share the same output channel (Obi is a single channel unit) and therefore share the same intensity control.

Obi has two preset programmes fixed at 32Hz 200us (background) and 80hz 100us (Boost). It features a good LCD display and low battery indicator. It has a maximum output of 200mA under test conditions.

Two preset programes designed for early and late stages of labour.

Each programme has a boost facility, used to increase the effect during contractions.

"Background" mode uses a low frequency designed to slowly build the level of your endorphines, the bodies own natural pain killer.

"Boost" mode uses a high frequency to block or mask the intense pain experienced at contraction time.

Elle has a unique feature referred to as "Opti-Max" technology. This allows you to vary the pulse width during use at the touch of a button to increase or decrease the sensation and effect of your TeNS. This is in addition to the Boost facility sported by all Obstetric TeNS units and adds to the overall effectiveness of the device .

Super Size Electrodes

All our Maternity TeNS use (as standard) maternity electrodes which are twice the size of electrodes used for normal pain relief. This extra coverage is essential to achieve the powerful effect required during childbirth.

Standard maternity electrodes measure 50 x 100 mm.

We now offer an optional upgrade to Super Sized electrodes which, measuring 50 x 150 mm, are half as big again.

We cannot tell you these will double the effect but we can tell you that our Super Size electrodes will make the very best of whichever TeNS unit you choose.

If you have any doubts regarding the effectiveness of TeNS during childbirth, this is the option for you.

Our Super Size electrodes are available as a selectable upgrade option when you purchase or hire your Maternity TeNS machine.

Our aim is to despatch all orders (except advanced booking for Maternity TeNS Machine Hire) the working day they're received. Our normal cut off time is 4 pm each day. Unless otherwise specified (or requested) for UK destinations our standard is Royal Mail 1st Class Post which, under normal circumstances, should reach you within 2 or 3 days.

Royal Mail's "Next Day Delivery" is available to you as an option during our CheckOut process. Please remember your postman will require a signature upon delivery.

Heavy items (typically nebulisers) will be sent by Courier (DHL or TNT) for "next working day" delivery. Please note the courier will require a signature and for domestic addresses may deliver any time between 9 am and 9 pm Monday to Friday. Deliveries to Scottish Highlands and Islands may take longer.

Items for destinations outside of the UK will be sent using International Registered Post. Delivery time will vary according the country and local postal services.
