The Porta-Neb nebuliser is widely used within our hospitals and through their recommendations its perfect for home use too.

Porta-Neb has a high capacity piston compressor rated for continuous use so it will meet the highest possible demands without the need for cooling down periods.

This VentStream option is suitable for all types of medication (bronchodilators, corticosteroids and antibiotics)
but it is specifically designed for patients regularly using steroids or antibiotics.

By incorporating a system of simple valves into the Drug Chamber, VentStream will only dispense the drug when the patient breaths in. By comparison to standard systems very little of the drug escapes into the atmosphere and the patient inhales a much higher dose. VentStream also includes a long vent hose (optional use) so that when the patient exhales, the particles of drug not absorbed can be vented through an open window or door. This reduces contamination and protects the immediate environment including other people close by.

All standard Drug Chambers ("Nebuliser" is the more correct term") operate by passing a continual flow of compressed air through a tiny "venturi tube" within the chamber holding the drug to be dispensed.

The drug is dispensed as a continual stream of tiny particles small enough to penetrate deep into your lungs.

Because of the continual stream much of the drug is lost into the atmosphere - this wastage is taken into account when your drug is being prescribed.

Additionally any particles of drug not absorbed by your lungs are also exhaled into the atmosphere.

The SideStream system supplied as standard with your Porta-Neb is an excellent quality and efficient standard design nebuliser.

VentStream is more sophisticated. It also uses compressed air and a venturi tube. However through a system of simple valves it only distributes the drug when you actively breathe in. This produces significantly less waste and a much higher proportion of the drug is inhaled.
VentStream also includes a long vent hose (optional use) so that when you exhale the particles of drug not absorbed can be sent outside via a window or door. This reduces contamination protecting your immediate environment and other people around you.

Ventstream cannot be used with a face mask as you need to breath through the mouthpiece to activate the nebulisation. Ventstream is an option that replaces the standard Sidestream pack.

The VentStream system can be used with any air compressor with a minimum output of 7 litres per minute.

Delivery of your Nebuliser

Unless otherwise stated on the product description standard delivery to mainland UK addresses is included free of charge.

Unless otherwise stated on the product description your nebuliser will be despatched by courier. Standard delivery (up to 3 working days) is included free of charge with "next working day delivery" available as an option. e.g "Next Working Day" orders despatched on a Wednesday should be delivered Thursday. If despatched on a Friday it should be delivered on Monday (excluding bank holidays when delivery should be expected on the Tuesday.

Our courier delivers to private addresses any time up until 9 p.m. Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays.

If you become concerned about your delivery please contact us as early as possible during the day (no later than 4 pm) and we will do our best to track your order to confirm its ETA.

"Highlands and Islands & Channel Isles" addresses may attract a surcharge and "next working day" delivery may not be guaranteed . This will be discussed with you prior to shipment.

We regret that due to their weight it is not usually practical for us to despatch mains operated nebulisers to destinations outside of the UK. However if you have a specific need to do so please contact us using the free call back service at the top of the page.
